Windows 7 - is used on circa 7000 PCs and laptops and is going end of life. Devices must be upgraded to Windows 10.
There will be no extension to Extended Security Updates with Windows 7
After 10 years, support for Windows 7ended on January 14, 2020.
If you continue to use Windows 7after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it will become more vulnerable to security risksand viruses because you will no longer receive software updates, including security updates, from Microsoft.
Windows 10 provides fast start up, marks the return of the ‘Start Menu’ and makes your PC even more secure.
Windows 10 also delivers a better browser.

There is support from Microsoft for devices using Windows 7, in all NHS organisations, until 14 January 2021.
If SRFT did not migrate there would be no extension and no extended security updates.
Salford would no longer receive software updates.

Excellent virus protection.
Addition of Cortana.
